About le grimpeur

I’m a full-time trade journalist in Vancouver, Canada, and a part-time freelance writer - plus an avid cyclist. Formerly an expert-level XC racer (quite a few years ago), I’m now strictly on the road with the occasional hill-climb, Masters or Cat.5 race, or long-distance exploit. Now touching 36, I’m juggling riding with career pursuits and home life. It’s a familiar story.

For me, cycling is all about climbing. It’s the majesty, the suffering, and the sense of achievement of conquering the mountains. Hence le grimpeur, a collection of writing about climbs, climbing, and climbers.
